Student Biography

Melissa Consiglio is currently a 5th year senior at Penn State University majoring in Architectural Engineering with a focus in Construction Management. She will graduate in May 2016 with an Integrated Bachelor/Master degree in Architectural Engineering and a Minor in Architectural Studies.

During her college experience, Melissa has been fortunate enough to have several internship and international experiences. For the past three summers she has worked with DAVIS Construction, a general contractor in the Washington, DC area, in both their residential and estimating departments. In residential, she worked on The Oronoco and The Lauren, both extremely high-end condominium buildings which are selling units to clients for millions of dollars. As an estimating intern, she worked with the preconstruction team to determine bids and budgets for potential DAVIS projects. Additionally, during the summer of 2014 she had the opportunity to participate in the AE study abroad program and travel to Rome, Italy, where she studied architecture and urban planning.

Outside of her studies, Melissa is involved in numerous student organizations. Through engineering she is the Vice President of the Student Chapter of the Partnership for Achieving Construction Excellence (S:PACE), serves as an Engineering Ambassador and was the Engineering Design Lead for the Women in Engineering Program Orientation (WEPO). She is also extremely involved with THON and was selected as a Supply Logistics Captain for THON 2016. In her spare time, Melissa loves to sing and has been a member of an on campus choir called the Oriana Singers since her freshman year.
